Based in Dublin, Ireland, Rachel picked up her coloured pencils five years ago after a long hiatus. Primarily trained as a classical violinist and teacher, Rachel realised that she longed for another creative outlet. A self-confessed ‘cat lady’, she began creating pet portraits on a commission basis. Encouraged by the number of commission requests she was receiving and realising that she was happiest in the studio, Rachel gradually built up a small business by showcasing her work and building a following on social media. These began with illustrative-type drawings using a basic set of coloured pencils, but soon developed into highly detailed portraits, created using materials of superior quality.

Since discovering and joining renowned UK colour pencil artist Bonny Snowdon’s Ignite Academy in 2022, Rachel realised that there was so much more scope for her development as an artist. She therefore dedicated more and more of her time to practising the artform, completing detailed online tutorials and searching for inspiring photos of humans, exotic and local wildlife from which to create new pieces.

Rachel welcomes human/pet portrait commissions and also offers original pieces & fine art prints.
